"Each year the Society honors one of its members with the Surveyor of the Year Award. This award recognizes a member who has shown a level of commitment and dedication to our profession above and beyond the rank-and-file members. Past Surveyor of Year recipients include Buck Alexander, Knud Hermansen, John Fuehrer, Don Kamp, Fred Friden, Amy Hopkins, Adam Crews and many more.
The 2023 Surveyor of the Year fits well among our past recipients. He started his surveying career in 1986 when he began working at his father's engineering consulting firm. He has worked for the same firm for 38 years, working thru the various roles including crew chief, Chief of Surveys, Vice President and ultimately to his current role as President.
He obtained an Associate's Degree of Engineering Technology from the Pennsylvania State University at the Wilkes Barre Campus. In May of 2003 he became licensed as a Professional Land Surveyor in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Our newest Surveyor of the Year is a PSLS Past-President and has served the Society in several different roles, currently as Treasurer. He is a leader within our Society and presents himself as an example to others.
Not only has he served our Society, but he also has faithfully served our nation, being
honorably discharged from the U.S. Marine Corps in 1994.
When he is not working, he enjoys big game hunting. When the weather cooperates, he can be found riding his motorcycle, most frequently with his brothers in the Disciple Christian Motorcycle Club a group he is very actively involved with."
