Why Hiring A Professional Engineer and Land Surveyor Matters
WELCOME TO THE McMILLEN MINUTE BLOG
In 1965 a young, aspirational engineer set out to gain knowledge and experience in an occupation that he knew was meant for him. Little did he know at the time that he would soon become an entrepreneur – embarking on a quest to serve his community and his profession by starting his very own engineering business.
We’re speaking (of course) about none other than Terry McMillen, Sr., Professional Engineer, Professional Land Surveyor, and Founder of McMillen Engineering, Inc. in 1977.
In the early days, with his wife Denise alongside him, Terry began taking on work as an engineer for several land development projects. He continued finding new opportunities, expanding services, growing the business, creating livelihoods for what has grown into a top-notch team, solving engineering and land surveying challenges throughout Southwestern Pennsylvania, teaching the next generation of would-be engineers, and so much more.
Although, he's “mostly retired” these days, Terry remains active in some aspects of the business. He knows McMillen Engineering is in good hands with Terry McMillen, Jr., P.L.S. and Jim Stanton, P.E. at the helm. So, for now, he would like to share his experiences and viewpoints in hopes that they will encourage and enlighten others.
We hope that you find some time for a quick read from The McMillen Minute or view the Videos About Our Work to learn more about what we do.
