I am building a new home; do I have to address stormwater? 

 

Stormwater needs to be addressed for all types of developments, however, often the required system can be quite simple and still meet the stormwater requirements.  If you call McMillen Engineering, Inc. we can assist you on the stormwater management system that best meets your needs. 

 

I am purchasing a home and need a structural inspection for the bank.  Can McMillen Engineering, Inc. perform the required inspection? 

 

McMillen Engineering, Inc. has building inspectors on staff certified in the Uniform Construction Code capable of performing the required inspection. 

 

I would like to construct a new office building; can McMillen Engineering, Inc. help guide me through the process? 

McMillen Engineering, Inc. has licensed Land Surveyors, Licensed Engineers, a Certified Planner, and Architectural engineering technicians on staff.  We can help our clients navigate the development process from start to finish. 

 

I have a parcel of ground that I would like to develop, can you tell me how many residential lots I could expect to have? 

There are various factors to consider in a residential development; such as municipal requirements, site topography, and the proposed community demographics.  Therefore, each site needs to be evaluated independently to determine the maximum number of developable lots.  McMillen Engineering, Inc. can prepare a conceptual site plan for the proposed development to determine that number for you.  We can also prepare the probable cost for the proposed development.  If the development is deemed feasible by the owner, we can prepare the required development plans and construction details for the proposed development. 

 

Can I remove a column in my basement? 

McMillen Engineering, Inc. has structural engineers on staff that can analyze the existing structure and determine if the column can be removed. 

 

I have water in my basement, can McMillen Engineering, Inc. help identify the source and propose a restoration method? 

 

Wet basements are often a problem for homeowners.  Though there are often some common factors in water infiltrating a basement, each home is different. McMillen Engineering, Inc. can perform an inspection of the home and develop a restoration plan. 

 

I have a stream on my property that often floods my home.  Is there anything I can do to improve the drainage of the stream? 

Depending on the site, there are certain items that an individual can do in the stream to improve the drainage, however, most items require a DEP permit.  McMillen Engineering, Inc. can prepare the required permit for the necessary stream improvements.
